The program of the
Kids Abroad Foundation is organized with the intention of
making foreign language instruction available to elementary
and middle school students, regardless of need. Native
speaking teachers are used whenever possible.
Fundraising is conducted so that
instruction can be provided by paid teachers, yet classes
are free to students.
The parents of each student
enrolled in one of the Foundation's classes are expected to
volunteer at least two days per year to assist with
fundraising.
Currently the main fundraising
activity of the Foundation is its volunteer staffed German
sausage booth operated each year at the Waterford Fair, in
Waterford, VA, and occasionally at other local fairs.
The next Waterford Fair will be
held October 7 thru 9, 2005. See the website of the
Waterford Foundation
for additional details. |
